BUCK VANTAGE PRO
I collect knives, have for years, a razor sharp edge, how to achieve and maintain one is what got me interested and kept me hooked all these years.
My knives run the gammitt in the price range from very expensive customs to run a the mill and high quality production blades ,yes I did pick up a Mcusta (several guys here have them ) they are a CNC machined knife and hand assembled , fit and finish is what they are known for,and good blade steel. Here's the one I bought I like the korian scales and the deep pocket clip (not shown in this pic) the lack of pocket clip is what kept me from purchase till a few weeks ago when I noticed this style........http://newgraham.com/store/product/4709/Tact.- The Buck Vantage Pro #347BKS-B is why I started this thread, reading about it from different online sources piqued my interest in that it has attributes that I deem essential in a good all around SHARP high quality EDC. 1. The 3.25" blade on this thing is scary wicked hair splitting sharp(yes it does split hairs, I did it) this IS the sharpest knife out the box I've purchased to date.It is of Paul Bos hardened S30V (not only sharp but will hold the edge very well) an other thing I personally like is a deep ground hollow blade for that straight edge-razor feel, I prefer this over flat ground. JMVH2cents.Oh! I don't normally care about out the box sharp because I'm capable of reaching razor sharp on any decent knife in a matter of minutes in my shop, but I am very very impressed with this blade to say the least. 2. It has a very nice contoured G-10 scale handle with solid stainless liners and a very tight liner lock and a deep pocket tip up clip that is reversible for you lefties. 3. The knife weighs 4oz making it an excellent choice for EDC....many feel over 4oz not practical for EDC, I have to agree. 4.It has a small flipper and a syderco style oval blade hole .....the un-obtrusive flipper pop's this thing open with ease , I'm impressed ! 5. It's American made....that can't be a bad thing, I'm glad to see an American co. besides spyderco has their finger to the pulse of the knife enthusiasts around the globe. Lastly ,the price of the Buck Vantage Pro is around 50 Bucks:biggrin: making it, in my eyes, the best knife deal I've ran across in a long long time. The Great AG....if your out there you gotta give this knife a shot. For any of you GIMrs reading this I would never start a post (nor have I ever) about a knife unless I was totally confident about my recommendation and I am about this knife!! So far, I cant say enough good things about the Vantage Pro......and don't forget !! it's a great way to exchange those useless FRNs I would put this knife up against any Spyderco and I am pretty sure that it's shaper than any I have and I have more than a few spydercos Here's a link.....http://www.knifeworks.com/buckvantag...plainedge.aspx For 50 smackarooos you can't beat this knife!! . |

Re: BUCK VANTAGE PRO
Gimme a few minutes and I'll post you some links, I like Knife Center, knife works and new graham. The kershaw Tyrade is hot right now the kershaw JYD is hot item also, very stout and very well made I have 3 of them , the standard, the D2 laminated steel and the titanium handle which has an insane sharp blade. The standard and the D2 are all a person needs and might be better for what you describe than the Buck vantage pro in that they are a bit bigger (very stout handle and blade) but maybe a tad big for some people as an edc although many people carry them.
Check out the companys I've mentioned if you have problems I'll give you the links. |

Re: BUCK VANTAGE PRO
Apparently this knife was just released, that's why it's so hard to find. Also in stock here. I bought one. It's a nice folder for under $50.
